With the year 7′s heading to our Gippsland site, Grantville Lodge, there was plenty of positive feedback from students, teachers and parents.
“The leaders pushed us to use and improve our teamwork so that we could work better as a class.” Ruby
Following the year 7 camp, the year 8′s travelled to Camp Acacia in Halls Gap. “We were lucky to have sunny, warm weather on camp at Camp Acacia in Hall’s Gap, surrounded on all sides by the Grampians National Park.” The students enjoyed facilities, activites and food provided by the camp. They were congratulated on their excellent behaviour by the camp outdoor education staff who were also impressed with the appropriate camp clothing worn by students. The big fashion statement for camp was bright thermal pants and tops worn under shorts and t-shirts. The students were as colourful as the Grampians Parrots! It was also amazing to see so many kangaroos in Halls Gap.
Accompanying staff enjoyed the week with students immensely as they were fun, helpful and tackled challenges with enthusiasm and good spirits.
Students enjoyed bushwalking, initiative games, bike riding, a night camping in tents at a bush site, canoeing, rockclimbing and abseiling, as well as some free time to continue to develop strong bonds within the group.”
